Documents Required for VISA Application

You will need to visit the Spanish Embassy in your country to get the VISA application procedure started. However, there are many pre-requisites to this procedure and keeping all the documents handy and updated will make sure you get there with full preparation

  • Passport: Make sure that it is valid till six months after your trip.
  • VISA application form: Take your time and fill this in properly.
  • Passport-size photographs: A normal application procedure needs two of these.
  • Proof of accommodation: You will either need to share the hotel reservation details or the address of your sponsor.
  • Flight itinerary: Sharing the details of every flight within the country is mandatory.
  • Proof of means: This includes bank statements, salary slips or sponsorship documents that approximate your financial capability.
  • Travel insurance: Most VISAs today require proof of travel insurance of some kind.
  • Application fee: There is an application fee for VISAs and that must be paid at the time of application

Different Types of VISAs in Spain

  • Regular Tourist VISA: Applied for by individuals who want to visit the country for leisure and travel.

  • Business VISA: Applied for by individuals travelling to Spain for business purposes. This also includes meetings and events.
  • Airport Transit VISA: Applied for by individuals who need to pass through Spain to get to their final destination. This implies changing flights in Spain
