Abu Dhabi features a tropical arid climate, characterised by clear blue skies and warm weather for most of the year. Rainfall is irregular. Typically occurs in the winter months from November to March. Al Ain, the emirates city nestled near the Hajar mountains experiences more frequent rain due to its lush oasis setting.

For most of the year lightweight summer clothing is suitable in Abu Dhabi. However it's advisable to have something on hand during the winter season. Don't forget to bring a jacket or sweater when visiting hotels or going to the cinema as they might have air conditioning.
