Mark Your Calendar! Karnataka is Hosting its First Ever Surfing Festival to Promote All Round Tourism
To promote Karnataka as a tourists hub on same level with states like Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan and Odisha, Karnataka Tourism is all set to host its first ever surfing festival.
In association with the Mantra Surf Club, Kanara Surfing and Water Sports Promotion Council of India, The Surf Federation of India is hosting a three-day mega event in Mangaluru, between 27th May- 29th May 2017.
There shall be various categories including under 16 junior boys(17-22 year old), senior men (22-28), master men (28 and above) and an open women’s category.
To make the event more happening as well as to go in the proper decorum, number of referees have been called from Indonesia, USA and Australia. To maintain the spirit of the visitors,there will be other attractions also including, cultural programmes and a coastal food festival.
“The idea behind the event is to promote and showcase beaches of Karnataka as popular surfing and adventure destinations,” according to officials of the department of tourism.
Blessed with sublime natural beaches, the land of Karnataka is not only peaceful, but can double up your adrenaline rush with its innumerable activities. This particular event will take place at the Sasihithlu Beach.
In addition to this surfing festival, the tourism ministry of Karnataka also plans to bring sky diving and motorcycling festivals to attract the travelers and adventure enthusiasts to the state of Karnataka.
