Have you ever traveled between Araku Valley and Visakhapatnam? If yes, then you must be aware of the breathtaking natural beauty of this scenic route. With a purpose to provide a charming travelling experience of the striking Araku valley, Indian Railway has introduced a Vistadome coach on its Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train.
On 16th April, 2017, Railway Minister of India Suresh Prabhu announced the news of the train through a video link from Bhubaneswar. If you checkout the pictures of this train, you will surely be going to be excited about it.
This beautifully designed Vistadome AC coach is supposedly first-of-its-kinds of things in Indian Railways. It has huge glass windows and an observation lounge that allow the passengers enjoying a splendid panorama of the sites along the 128-km rail route between Visakhapatnam and Araku valley hill station.
The total cost of this 40-seat coach is 3.38 crore and the most amazing aspect of this coach is its double-wide reclining passenger seats. These seats can be rotated 360 degrees for offering an outstanding sightseeing experience.
As per a railway release, the coach also features a glass-domed ceiling, automatic sliding doors and a multi-tier luggage rack. Tourists can enjoy a relaxing trip while being on their seats and coming across the breathtaking views of the Anantagiri Ghat section, Lambasingi, Borra caves and the tunnels along the route, from their Vistadome coach.
In the train, only one coach has been attached to the train so far and very soon one more will be added. The Vistadome coach has been introduced to promote tourism in the country. A similar type of coach would be also introduced on a route in northeast. Other features of this coach will LED lights, rotating seats and GPS-based information system. The minister said the new features would be of great enjoyment for tourists. If you don’t get to book seats in this coach, then don’t worry.
