The great Mughal Emperor Akbar instructed the construction of the Agra Fort in the year 1565 A.D., while several additions were made until the time of his grandson Shah Jahan. It is a massive architecture and forbidding exteriors of this fort will keep you amaze for a long time. It is made in the form of crescent, compacted on the east with a long, straight wall facing the river. This massive fort has a perimeter of about 2.4 Kilometers, which is bounded by double castellated ramparts of red sandstone punctuated at regular intervals by bastions. Some of the significant architectures inside this huge fort are, the Moti Masjid (a white marvel mosque), Diwan-e-Khaas, Diwan-e-Am, Khaas Mahal, Jehangir's Palace, Shish Mahal and Musamman or Samman Burj, where Shahjahan was held imprisoned by Aurangzeb in 1666 A.D.

It was a tomb to Mir Afzal Khan, a senior minister of the court of Shah Jahan. This tomb is considered a milestone in Indo-Persian architecture. It is the very first building in India that is beautifully adorned using glazed tile works. This decoration is more prominent on façade and exteriors. Overlooking River Yamuna, the tomb creates a wonderful view. It is must visit attraction due to its finest craftsmanship.

Also known as Baby Taj, Itmad-ud-daula is the very first tomb that is entirely made using marbles. It is a mausoleum that overlooks holy River Yamuna. This pure white elaborately carved tomb features an Indo-Islamic style of architecture. Few parts of the tomb have Persian influences that make it really appealing. It seems like a Jewel box kept over an open garden.
Sikandra is a huge mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar located in the first stop-over while going from Delhi. This beautiful architecture displays his philosophy and secular outlook, merging the best of Muslim and Hindu architectures in an excellent region. This mausoleum was built in the year 1613 A.D. by his son Jahangir, making it the last resting place for the remains of the Great Emperor (the remains of Akbar were moved to many places before coming here).
