The word “beach” can give you a beautiful picture of the true natural bliss and will surely make you imagine the breathtaking views of the gushing waves, beautiful sunrise and sunset. But if you are thinking just about sun, sand and surf then you should definitely explore the below mentioned beaches which will definitely change your perspective you think about the beaches. There are some beaches across the globe which don’t actually fall in the usual criterion and are far more different in terms of color and landscape than what you really expect. 

Glass Beach

It is located in Mackerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California. This beach is filled with sea glasses which have created because of several years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part. The colorful glasses which are there at this beach in the place of sand are the major reason which attracts many people.the glasses are diminishing day by day because visitors collect these glasses.

Pink Sand Beach

Beaches with pink sand are found in the East side of the Harbour Island. You can reach this island through airplane by landing at the nearest airport which is north Eleuthera. Beaches with pink sand are not just unique but these beaches also offer breathtaking views. The reason for pink sand of the Bahamas is pigmented by washed up coral remnants. Explore these pink sand beaches and enjoy the views.

Red Sand Beaches

If you feel like exploring the beaches which have red dark sand then you should plan a getaway to Galapagos Island. Along with the red sand, here you might spot sea lions as well. Moreover, the reason of this deep red color in the sand is because of the high content of iron in the volcanic material which is found on Rabida Island.

Pfeiffer Purple Sand Beach

It is nestled in California, USA. This beach is famous for the color of its sand which has purple color and that’s what makes this beach bit more attractive. Although the sand is not purple throughout but there are patches of purple sand.  Moreover, here at this beach visitors can witness various shades of purple like ruby red, pink, royal purple, violet and lavender.

Green Sand Beach

Green sand beach is popularly called as Papakolea Beach and is located in the Hawaii region. Papakolea beach gets this green color from olivine mineral which was deposited due to some volcanic activity. Usually the magma of the volcano is rich in olivine and olivine crystals and that’s how the green color is created. It is another unique beach which nature lover should definitely visit.

Black Sand Beach

Truly a negative of a usual beach and the reason for that is its jet black sand. Yes, Hawaii’s Punalu’u Beach is popular for its black sand. The sand of this beach got this black color because underwater volcanic vents ooze magma and then rapidly cools that and explodes when comes in contact with the cooler ocean water. This beach attracts several people every year.

Grey Sand Beach

For the ones who are thinking that this beach might get the grey color because of mixing of black sand into the white sand then you are highly mistaken. This Grey Sand Beach at Shelter Cove in California’s Humboldt County is one of its kinds and magnetizes various people every year. Hidden Beach

Fondly called as love beach and it is located on Marieta Island in Mexico. It is in a way sort of open sun drenched crater. This gorgeous hidden beach is only accessible through a water tunnel which connects the beach with the Pacific Ocean. There is approx 6 feet of space above water level and visitors arrives there only by swimming and kayaking. Moreover, the most interesting fact is that the beach is almost invisible from outside and every year this beach attracts thousands of people.

Orange Sand Beach

Porto Ferro is beach which is located in Island of Sardinia and is popular for its one and quarter mile colored with orange colored sand. This orange colored sand is the major reason which attracts hundreds of tourists and nature lovers every year.  The reason of orange color of the sand is the unique mixture of native orange limestone, volcanic deposits and crushed shells. You can here enjoy boating, surfing, diving and windsurfing.

White Sand Beach

Spend a lazy day while sipping your favorite drink on the white sand beach which is called as Grand Anse Beach. This stunning beach has spectacular landscape along with white sand which makes this beach unlike other beaches. Visitors can here enjoy surfing as well.

Shell Beach

Shell Beach is located in Western Australia in the Shark Bay Region. This beach received this name because of large quantity of the shells on the beach. This scenic beach is one of the most gorgeous beaches which beach lovers should definitely explore.

Dragon Eggs Beach (The Moeraki Boulders)

If you want to witness the dragon eggs then you should definitely visit Koekohe beach of New Zealand. Here at this beach you can see the Moeraki Boulders which are the large and round boulders in grey color and are septarian concretions. However, unlike Moeraki Boulders some concretions have the bones of Plesiosaurs and mosasaurs. This beach is a major attraction and attracts end number of tourists.

Cathedrals Beach

It is an amazing beach which is located in Ribadeo in Spain. The spectacular arches like cathedral make this beach really attractive. However, these arches are formed by pounding water over thousands of years. Moreover, the original name of this beach is Praia de Augas Santas. This is one of the most astounding beaches in the world and it is perfect to spend some quality time with the one you love.
