Changing of the Guard’ is the ceremonial duty performed by President Bodyguard (PBG) which is the senior-most regiment of the Indian Army. There is no fee required to witness this ceremony. Mirza Asadullah Beg Khan was famous with his pen name – Ghalib. He was an Urdu poet and a member of Bahadur Shah Zafar’s court. Whenever someone talks about poetry, Ghalib’s name comes up on the top. He lived the last years of his life in this Haveli and died in 1869. Now this place has been converted into a museum with all his marvelous works kept in the display. His favorite attires, ‘Balon wali lambi topi’ and ‘Lamba kurta’ are also kept here. You can witness the place where Ghalib used to get ready and leave on his Tonga for Red Fort to recite his remarkable Urdu Gazals.
