U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi

If you are flying on Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi to USA , you can avail the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport. This will make your travel to the USA smoother, and you can land in the US with preclearance done in Abu Dhabi and save your time from long immigration queues upon arrival in any of our online points between New York , Washington, Boston and Chicago.

This facility is valid for Etihad Airways’ AUH-JFK, AUH-ORD,AUH-IAD and AUH-BOS flights.

Guests with access to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility must:

Check in for their flight at Terminal A at least four hours before their flight.

Make their way to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility two hours before their flight, or 90 minutes if they’re travelling in Business, First or The Residence.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility closes an hour before the flight departure time.

For flights with clearance in the U.S., guests may check in as usual and enjoy the facilities in Zayed International Airport.

The exclusive Etihad U.S. Preclearance Lounge is currently closed for refurbishment. Guests travelling in Business, First or The Residence, or guests eligible to use the lounge with their Etihad Guest membership, are invited to use our state-of-the-art First or Business lounge instead. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility is about a 15-minute walk away.

End of long queues at Schiphol Airport.

Through much effort, the situation at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) is back to ‘normal' for customers departing from and transferring through AMS.

This applies to customers traveling with and without baggage. Additional waiting times are not expected during the Christmas period either.

KLM is slowly phasing out some of the additional measures that were taken:
• no additional long-haul flights have been canceled and,
• the Minimum Connecting Time (MCT) for KLM flights at Amsterdam is back to standard
o EUR-EUR: 40 minutes
o EUR-ICA: 50 minutes
o ICA-ICA: 50 minutes

ESSENTIAL COVID-19 RELATED TRAVEL INFORMATION

FOR PASSENGERS ARRIVING TO INDIA ARRIVAL GUIDELINES

UPDATE : effective 22nd November 2022

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare India has updated ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals’ in context of COVID-19. The present guidelines are revised in light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as in India. These guidelines are valid effective 22nd November 2022 till further orders.

Submission of self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal is now discontinued.

Passengers should preferably be fully vaccinated as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against COVID-19 in their Country.
Any passenger having symptoms of COVID-19 during travel shall be isolated as per standard protocol i.e. the said passenger should be wearing mask, isolated and segregated from other passengers in flight/travel and shifted to an isolation facility subsequently for follow up treatment. Thermal screening will be done in respect of all the passengers by the health officials present at the point of entry.
The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated, taken to a designated medical facility as per health protocol (as above).
All passengers should self-monitor their health post arrival also shall report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075)/ State Helpline Number in case they have any symptoms suggestive. Updated Health Regulations for Travel to France
The French authorities have lifted all the health restrictions related to COVID-19 currently in force for travel from abroad to France, Corsica, and French overseas, as well as for travel between France and French overseas in both directions. The classification of countries (green, orange, red), which identifies zones of virus circulation, is also removed. For more information please visit here.

AIRPORT TRANSIT VISA (ATV) FRANCE

The French authorities have implemented travel requirements with regard to Airport Transit Visa (ATV) to transit via France for final destination outside the Schengen Area.
Passengers are required to personally ascertain eligibility based on details provided on The French Government’s website by clicking here. For a general overview of travel conditions visit Air France Travel Doc.
For information pertaining to TRANSIT, kindly select “Transit” in menu option to know information specific to ATV.

Passengers transiting through France must ensure they meet the validity requirements for both transit and final destination. Passengers are personally responsible to ensure the same before planning travel.

Distribution Surcharge Update.

As of 1 January 2023, Air France and KLM will increase the Distribution Surcharge on GDS sales from EUR15 to EUR17 per one way. This surcharge partially covers the GDS distribution costs. Since the implementation in April 2018, Air France and KLM indicated that the level of the Distribution Surcharge would be regularly reassessed and could change in the future. The revaluation is necessary because the cost difference has increased since the introduction of the Distribution Surcharge.

As a reminder, the Distribution Surcharge applies:
• to GDS sales,
• on AF and KL marketed flights, irrespective of operating airline and point of sale,
• at ticketing time, regardless of haul or fare type, booking class, pricing program, cabin, and ticket stock.

The surcharge does not apply to Groups and to sales by travel agents using AF&KL NDC connections.
The Distribution Surcharge will be filed and visible in the GDS.

The increased surcharge applies when a new fare quote is made on/after 1 January for travel on/after 1 January 2023. When the historic fare quote is used for tickets issued before 1 January 2023, the EUR15 surcharge applies. When fares are re-quoted on/after 1 January 2023, the EUR17 surcharge applies. Air France and KLM are expanding the possibilities to connect to NDC and continue to propose dedicated content only for NDC, such as continuous pricing (new attractive pricing points), dynamic pricing of ancillaries, and new products, e.g. bundles (a combined offer of an airline ticket and a paid option).

Combinability Short- and Medium-Haul Routes.

Air France and KLM have changed the combinability conditions of Light, Standard, and Flex fare options on short- and medium-haul routes. Instead of full combinability between the three different fare options customers can now only combine within the same fare option, however, they can still combine with a different cabin. The new combinability conditions are:

• Light: Light Economy only
• Standard: Standard Economy and Standard Business cabin can be combined
• Flex: Flex Economy, Full Flex (Y/W class), and Flex Business cabin can be combined

Operational Difficulties at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Due to the current situation at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, KLM has implemented several measures:

• A number of seats on KLM and KLM Cityhopper are reserved for customers who missed their flights due to long queues at Schiphol so they can be rebooked.
• Sales will be restricted on European KLM flights and Air France, KLM, and Delta long-haul flights from Amsterdam until 9 October 2022.

Dutch Flight Tax Increase.

Following a decision made by the Dutch government, the Dutch flight tax (VV) will be increased for all customers departing from the Netherlands with a travel date as of 1 January 2023.

To make sure that the correct amount is already charged for customers who travel as of 1 January 2023, the increased amount of EUR26,43 will be charged effective immediately.

Air France, Delta Air Lines, and Virgin Atlantic will apply the same to customers traveling from AMS. Customers transferring at AMS are not impacted.

The first flight planned to be equipped with the new KLM Premium Comfort cabin will be the KL641 on 27 August 2022 from AMS to New York-JFK.
Sales will start as of 30 August, for all flights with Premium Comfort.
Customers who already have a booking in Economy Class and who are interested in experiencing the new cabin may be offered a paid upgrade during check-in,
subject to availability. Customers with an Economy Class ticket can also choose to buy an upgrade offline, outside the check-in window.
Premium Comfort can be booked in booking classes: W, S, and A. The new cabin will be available on flights operated with a Boeing 787-10,
to New York - JFK, San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago (ORD), Nairobi (NBO), and Kilimanjaro (JRO)/Dar es Salaam (DAR).
The number of destinations will increase over time, as Premium Comfort will be available on Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Customers traveling in Premium Comfort will have SkyPriority, receive improved amenities, and enjoy more comfort.
Flying Blue members will also earn twice as many XP as in Economy Class.
In alignment with Air France's Premium Economy cabin, customers can select their seat in advance as a paid option in the Premium Comfort cabin.
Flying Blue Platinum, Gold, and Silver Elite members and Corporate customers (except bluebiz customers) can book their seat free of charge.
In addition, Choice of Standard Seat applies, which means that Flex fares allow customers to select their seat for free.
Seats are displayed as chargeable before ticketing. Customers traveling to/from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico can select a seat free of charge until further notice.
SSRs which are NOT accepted in Premium Comfort are:
Pet in Cabin (PETC)
Stretcher (STCR)
DEPU/DEPA
Extended leg rest (EXST)
Note: extended leg rest or a passenger of size is not permitted. EXST for comfort is permitted.

Paris-CDG Reopens Terminal 2G

Terminal 2G at Paris-CDG has been welcoming Air France customers again since 14 April 2022. They will find all the airline's services here, from check-in (with interactive terminals and an automated baggage drop-off area) to boarding, including the Air France lounge opens to customers travelling in Business class or Elite + members of the Flying Blue programme.

Accessible by a direct shuttle every 7 minutes from Terminal 2F (at departure level), Terminal 2G is appreciated by Air France customers for its human scale, the speed of formalities (cabin baggage scanning) and the elegance of the Air France lounge. The boarding lounge was completely renovated by Aéroports de Paris before reopening. Its new design is reminiscent of emblematic places in the capital such as the Rue de Rivoli and the Luxembourg Gardens.

Air France and KLM Codeshare Agreement with IndiGo

Air France and KLM signed a codeshare agreement with IndiGo (6E) last December, which is in place for travel as of 13 May 2022. Air France and KLM are the first major European airlines to have a codeshare agreement with 6E. With this commercial partnership, AF customers can book tickets to 30 IndiGo destinations* within India through four gateways: Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), Bengaluru (BLR), and Chennai (MAA), in connection with an AF flight from/to Paris-CDG. KL customers can book tickets to 20 IndiGo destinations within India through three gateways: DEL, BOM, and BLR, in connection with a KL flight from/to Amsterdam. * On 13 May 2022, services are launched to the following six destinations: Ahmedabad (AMD), Pune (PNQ), Hyderabad (HYD), Kolkata (CCU), Kochi (COK), and Chennai (MAA). As of 1 June 2022, all destinations will be served. Find attached a list of destinations.

Customers benefits:

Customers can fly to the destination of their choice with one single ticket and they only need to check-in at the airport of departure.
For flights departing from India, customers can benefit from through check-in (IATCI). If they have a different connecting terminal at DEL or BOM, customers have to collect their baggage* upon arrival in DEL or BOM and must check their baggage in again at the AF KL check-in desks.
For flights to India, baggage* has to be collected upon arrival in India to be cleared by customs and checked in again on the onward domestic flight.
* for cabin baggage, the regulations of the operating carrier (6E) apply: one piece of cabin baggage
weighing no more than 7 kg and whose total dimensions do not exceed 115 cm.
All customers can select their seat on the IndiGo website. Customers booked in A and Y class (Premium) benefit from priority check-in, priority baggage, and lounge access. Currently, online check-in through the IndiGo website is not available.
On board, AF and KL customers can enjoy free snacks and drinks.
Flying Blue members can earn Miles on AF and KL marketed/6E operated flights.
There is no interline agreement with 6E. Therefore, only AF or KL marketed/6E operated flights connecting with AF or KL flights can be issued on 057 and 074 tickets. It is not possible to issue 057 and 074 tickets on 6E marketed/operated flights.
The GDS has been updated.

British Airways announces codeshare partnership with Indian airline IndiGo

Dear Travel Partner,

We’re delighted to announce that British Airways has entered into a codeshare partnership with IndiGo, improving connectivity between the United Kingdom and eight destinations in India.

IndiGo is India's largest and fastest growing airline, operating an extensive domestic and regional network. With its fleet of more than 315 aircraft, the airline operates more than 1900 daily flights to 104 destinations.

The agreement means that British Airways customers travelling from towns and cities across India can connect via New Dehli or Mumbai and reach their final destination in London or beyond on a single ticket. Customers can travel from eight destinations in India, including Goa, Kolkata and Kochi.

The number of British Airways flights from India to London now exceeds pre-pandemic levels, operating 56 flights a week, to five Indian gateways: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Codeshare tickets are now available to book, for travel from 12 October 2023 onwards.

Due to snowstorm in Canada , with immediate effect, rebooking/rerouting charges will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on/before 23 December 2022 (original ticket issued date) for Worldwide travel with Cathay Pacific confirmed booking arriving to and departing from Toronto on 23 December 2022 - 31 December 2022.

Details as follows:
1. Cathay Pacific ticket stock (for Redemption ticket, please refer to point 4)
a. Cancellation and Refund
No waiver on cancellation, and refund charges.
b. Rebooking/ Rerouting
Rebooking/ rerouting charges will be waived on conditions that
Such requests are made on/before 31 December 2022 and before departure, for travel with Cathay Pacific confirmed booking arriving to or departing from Toronto on 23 December 2022 - 31 December 2022. No-show passenger is not eligible for the waiver

Revised (NEW) travel date must be completed on/before 28 February 2023 and subject to flight availability.

Terminal change at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport.

Effective from Thursday, 8 December 2022, Cathay Pacific flight operations at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport will be moved to Terminal 1.

All passengers are advised to proceed to Terminal 1 – Hall 1 for all departure formalities. Check-in counters will open 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time and will close 75 minutes before departure. Passengers are reminded to check in as early as possible to allow sufficient time to arrive at the boarding gate.

Extended wait times of up to 3 hours at immigration and passport control

Passengers travelling on UK and European Union passports as well as those issued by Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland and the USA are strongly encouraged to use the automated e-Gates which will provide a faster immigration clearance experience.

Cathay Pacific welcomes the Hong Kong SAR Government’s latest measures to facilitate travel to Hong Kong, especially the decision to remove the Amber Code restrictions under the Vaccine Pass for inbound persons entering Hong Kong effective tomorrow, 14 December 2022.

The adjustments will help further boost sentiment for travel, especially among inbound visitors, thereby facilitating the resumption of travel activities and strengthening of network connectivity at the Hong Kong aviation hub.

The Cathay Pacific Group, which includes passenger airlines Cathay Pacific and HK Express, has already added about 3,000 passenger flight sectors in the fourth quarter of this year. This includes Cathay Pacific resuming flights to popular destinations such as Tokyo (Haneda), Denpasar (Bali) and Zurich in November, as well as Sapporo, Fukuoka, Penang and Dhaka in December. More popular destinations are set to be resumed in 2023, including Phuket and Nagoya in January.

Meanwhile, HK Express has resumed flights to Tokyo (Haneda), Chiang Mai and Da Nang in December, with services to Jeju and Busan in the pipeline for January.

The Group remains fully committed to rebuilding the connectivity of the Hong Kong international aviation hub. As a Group, we are on track to achieve our target of operating up to one-third of pre-pandemic passenger flight capacity levels by the end of 2022. We anticipate that we will be operating around 70% of pre-pandemic passenger flight capacity by the end of 2023, with an aim to return to pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2024.

Important information for passengers in transit at Hong Kong International Airport from 1 April 2022

The Hong Kong Airport Authority has announced that from 1 April 2022, transit and transfer services at Hong Kong International Airport will resume.

Passengers are asked to ensure their booking meets the Airport Authority’s specific transit requirements.

Passengers from all overseas countries and the Taiwan region are also reminded that they need to have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test – the sample taken within 48hrs of the scheduled departure time of their flight to Hong Kong to be eligible to transit in Hong Kong. This is required even if their final destination does not require a pre-departure test.

More detailed information on the PCR test report and accreditation document requirements can be found in our COVID-19 information centre under the Hong Kong restrictions and quarantine section.

Passengers are also reminded to ensure they have all the necessary documents required by their final destination.

Following the spectacular success of the 2023 edition, the enchanting summer nights along the Han River are poised to glitter once more as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2024 makes its triumphant return.

The venue for DIFF 2024 will be similar to that of 2023, covering both the Han River Port area for the fireworks display and the Tran Hung Dao Street sidewalk area designated for artistic performances.

The opening night is planned for June 8th, with fireworks shows scheduled for every Saturday evening in the following weeks (except for the week before the final night). The anticipated date for the DIFF 2024 final night is July 13th.

Each night, the teams will perform 20-minute fireworks displays according to the theme decided upon by the event organizers. While the key theme for DIFF 2024 is currently being chosen, the leaders of Da Nang City emphasize that the aim of DIFF 2024 is to convey a message of a peaceful, fair, harmonious, and compassionate world.

BLR International Airport Terminal Change Postponed

We would like to share the update that the relocation date to Terminal 2 (T2) at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport, which had been postponed, has been newly decided by the concerned authorities such as airport operating company, security authorities, and Airline Management Council.

This is to inform you that the schedule for the relocation of all international flights to T2 and the start of operation is as follows:

1) RELOCATION DATE:
Tuesday, September 12, 2023. 10:45am IST
*Departure and arrivals will be at Terminal 2

BLR International Airport Terminal Change Postponed

We would like to inform you about the recent development of The relocation of all international flight operations at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, starting from August 31st, 2023 has been postponed due to Indian security official's order.

All flights operated by JAL will continue to depart and arrive at Terminal 1. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Commencement of International Operations at New Terminal 2 for Bengaluru Airport

We would like to share the information about All International Flight Operations from BLR Airport (Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru) Terminal 1 will commence from New Terminal 2 from 31AUG2023. The last flight cut off from Terminal 1 will be at 1100 Hrs on 31AUG2023.

Japan Airlines JL754(BLR-NRT) will also start operating from BLR Airport - Terminal 2 from 01SEP2023 (STD 0205 HRS).

Update on Change to U.S. Travel Policy Requiring COVID-19 Vaccination for nonimmigrant travel.

The US Administration will end the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for international air travelers at the end of the day on May 11, the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ends. This means starting May 12, noncitizen nonimmigrant air passengers will no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight to the United States. CDC’s Amended Order Implementing Presidential Proclamation on Safe Resumption of Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic will no longer be in effect when the Presidential Proclamation Advancing the Safe Resumption of Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic is revoked.

REVISED GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS.

This is to inform you all about the Revised Guidelines for International Travellers.

With Reference to Notice from "Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare"

1. If any passenger is travelling from China, Singapore, Hongkong, Republic of Korea, Thailand and Japan has to get an RT PCR test 72 hours prior to departure to India and upload the RT PCR test in Air Suvidha Portal along with the Self declaration form.

2. This will also apply to transiting passengers through these countries irrespective of their originating countries before coming to Indian Airport.

3. The existing practice of post - arrival random testing of 2% passengers shall continue.

Guidelines for International Arrivals w.e.f 01JAN'23.

We would like to inform you of the new guidelines for international arrivals by the Government of India (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare). All international flights from certain high-risk countries (China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Thailand and JAPAN). Such travellers would be required to:

Submit complete and factual information in the self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) before the scheduled travel, including last 14 days’ travel details.
Upload negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report on the Air Suvidha portal (The test should have been conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey).

NEW BORDER RESTRICTIONS.

This is to inform you all that The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) has issued Guidelines for International Arrivals about their decision to implement some measures to minimize the Covid Risk. Please find the following:-
• 2% of the total passengers in the flight shall undergo random post arrival testing at the airport on arrival. w.e.f. 24th DEC. (10:00 Hrs. IST).
• Cost of 2% testing will not be borned by the Passengers.
• Children under 12 years of age are exempted from post-arrival random testing.

JAPAN UPDATED BORDER MEASURES AS ON 14 NOV22.

The pre screening for quarantine for fast track use, which was previously applied for through MySOS is transferred to VisitJapanWeb provided by the Digital Agency.

If passengers entering Japan on or after November 14, 2022, they will not be able to make a new application through MySOS.

They must apply through VisitJapanWeb, where they will be able to register and apply for quarantine documents with immediate effect.
