Life is full of adventure some that you will do more than once some that you will do once in a life time. This one is that you shouldn’t miss. While you are a novelty within the city (I am probably in more tourist pictures than my own) you are experiencing adrenaline and excitement while driving through a wonderful city. Pricey but worth it, do it so when you are old you can look back and say how kick ***you are.

A different way to have a tour, and a great one!

It was great, one of those things that you gotta do at least once in a life time! Our host was nice and the drive was safe. I advise to not go if it's raining

Fun times in Vienna.

It’s quite fun and if you like attention you’ll love this tour. People are constantly smiling and waving at you as they take videos and pictures of you scooting through the city. I’m a big guy, 6’2” and I BARELY fit in the little car, so if you are taller than me you may want to reconsider. Fun way to get a quick overview tour of Vienna, for sure. If you’re expecting high thrills, maybe go to a cart track instead, but it is a lot of fun.

Brilliant Fun The Best Tour

After feeling so nervous all morning we arrived to meet Lilla today for the Hot Rod Tour, the tour was fantastic and Lilla was amazing she looked after us and made the whole experience an amazing one, thank you so much for one of the highlights on our trip

Made us laugh for hours

If this doesn't make you smile..nothing will Absolutely brilliant fun driving through the city with passers by smiling, laughing, waving snf taking photos...such a good laugh The tour guide Patrick was super cautious and made sure we knew all the safety rules etc...and took time to explain everything We loved it... Huge thanks for such a fun time

Fast fun way to see city

A fun different way to see parts of the city. Difficult to hear and understand the tour leader due to headset and engine noise. Need to be happy and confident driving a little car in the busy traffic. Very strange being at the traffic lights next to a tram full of people

Exciting, unusual and lots of fun

So much fun and such an unusual thing to do that I had not seen before. We loved that everyone in Vienna was smiling when they saw us and taking photos and filming us .

Soooooo much fun driving around Vienna! Loved everything about this tour. Our tour guide was amazing - she was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable about the places we saw and visited around Vienna. It was absolutely great 💖

Exhilarating experience

Ill get the downsides out of the way first. 1. There was an issue with my hot rod starting and we nearly got stuck in the car park but once we got out and with the group it was all fine. 2. The walkie talkies are not the best to hear the guide. The experience overall though was fantastic, these hotrods are quick and are really fun to drive. You do get to drive around all sorts of roads in Vienna and they are on 3 lane roads with trams and cars. Our guide was really pleasant and ensured we all stayed together and was very helpful. If people are expecting a 5mph jolly around Vienna then this is not for them. If they want a unique experience that is quick and really fun then book it, the team delivering the tour will not disappoint.

Absolutely horrendous experience. No instruction given on route. We were fitted with ear phones but I could not hear anything. There were only 3 others in the group and the guide totally abondoned me. I was last to leave and got stopped at the lights and nobody waited for me. I was terrified driving and just kept going straight till I could find somewhere to pull over which took me about 20 minutes. I was trying to make contact but could not. Finally when I stopped I rang and the guy came. He found me eventually and was not very nice. He was making out that it was my fault I did not stay with the group which was totally unjustified. Definitely would not recommend this.

Hot Rods in Vienna is a MUST DO!

Elias was a wonderful guide for my Hot Rod tour thru Vienna! Lucked out and ended up solo with little traffic and had the most amazing time whizzing thru Vienna. Our route weaved in and around the city and Elias pointed out all of the notable sights along the way. What an amazingly fun adventure. So glad I chose to this outing over a bike tour. Why bike when you can drive a Hit Rod - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It was an amazing fun ride around the streets of Vienna. Megha our guide was an excellent soul. Loved it.

Unique experience

It is a unique way to see the city. I did the tour on my own, so plenty of opportunities to ask questions as we were waiting at traffic lights. Yes the ride is a little rough, but that didn’t put a down on the experience. I had a constant smile.

We had Patrick as a tour guide and he was amazing! We were able to go as fast as was safe and saw everything that we wanted, while getting some fun facts from Patrick. The carts were safe and were so much fun. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see Víenna in a new way. Thank you guys!!

No show

The company never showed up to the address provided on web site . My wife and I wasted over 2 1/2 hours trying to get in touch . They claimed they were there ? I eventually got refunded . But I took pictures of the address and surrounding icons they said to meet near also asked a merchant if this was the spot they met he told yes they meet right over there. So just beware . I hope it was just a mistake but I would verify the day before!!!!

Super fun!! Totally recommend!

The hot rods are basically go karts. Very easy to drive - go and brake pedal. Max, our guide, gave us good instruction in the garage on how to operate them and take a test drive-a few laps in the parking garage- before we hit the streets. There were six of us on the tour. Occasionally, we got separated at traffic lights changing, but Max and the others waited for us, so no worries, even though we were the last two drivers. It is hard to hear the guide explaining some of the sights over the noise of the engines. This outing is about driving the hot rods on the streets of Vienna going past key sights, but sightseeing info is limited. You must pay attention to the driving and what’s going on around you. Every time we stopped, people kept asking, “how do we do this?” People kept taking videos of us as we drove by. I couldn’t help but wave and felt like a Queen in a parade, lol!! Very unusual excursion, highly recommend!

Waving

Being waved at as we went thru Vienna! A different way to drive with the brake on the left and accelerator is on the right. A test of your driving abilities! as following guide and looking at the bldgs. too! Great fun, and enjoyable.

Great experience

Excellent fun, we really enjoyed the experience of driving these and it was a great way to get orientates with the sights of the city. Max was great, giving us good instructions throughout as well as info on the sights. Thank you

Unique & fun way to see Vienna

Such a fun way to see the city! We all loved it but my son could have gone for 2-3 more hours. Florian was terrific. If you’re looking for something adventurous and a different way to experience Vienna this is your tour.

Great fun, warm welcome, highly recommended

Such great fun! Just under two hours driving round Vienna in go-karts. They’re hilarious. So low to the ground you feel as though you’re going really fast when doing 50kph. You get a whistle stop tour of the main sites of Vienna which is great as you can see the things you might want to go back and explore later. We went on a public holiday so it was fairly quiet. If you’ve driven a go-kart, you’ll be fine.

Best time in Vienna!

By far, the best way to sightsee Vienna! It was so much fun zipping through the city. Everyone is taking pictures and waving as you speed by the iconic landmarks. Amazing experience!

Awesome tour of the city - such fun

I really enjoyed this. A warm and friendly welcome, a great way to quickly see the city and see places you might want to walk back to afterwards. If you’ve ever driven a go-kart then these are exactly the same. Automatic, right foot for go and left foot for stop. You get lots of attention and people will take your photo so if you’re camera-shy be aware !

Hot Rod fun in Vienna

The Hot Rods are fun to drive and easy. Went across the Danube and thru several districts. Guide was very careful in traffic and we still had fun. Beautiful weather just highlighted our tour. Sitting so low to the ground makes it feel faster

The most enjoyable sightseeing ever!

Booked as an unusual birthday treat, turned our to be the best fun we’ve had in years ! Well organised, totally friendly, very knowledgeable and suitably chilled but with an excitement and a huge blast of adrenalin as you wiz round the streets of Vienna, expertly guided in a road legal Go-cart! Be prepared, this experience makes you feel like a rockstar! Everyone smiles (especially you) , waves, takes picture and films you as you fly past.

Fantastic group activity

This was a very fun group activity for a stag party. A unique way to see the city while having fun at the same time. We spent the remaining days in Vienna contemplating doing it all again

April 2023 - fun tour

Really fun tour. Hot Rod Tours did a great job working with us. The cars were a blast to ride and took no time getting used to.

Disappointed in Vienna

It would have been memorable if you guys turned up, called the tour operator but told viator had cancelled

Be warned - still waiting for a refund

They accepted our NYE booking and took our money (£400+), despite actually being closed. We turned up on the day and found out from a neighbouring take away that the owner was in fact on holiday in Tenerife. I’ve since contacted them in every way possible - email, Instagram, the contact form on their website, by text message, and have had no reply, and no sign of our money being returned. We did the tour once before in 2016 and absolutely loved it, but this is appalling. Do not use unless you can speak to the owner (Florian Matthies) and confirm the booking.

Just glad we never paid the deposit

Made a booking and was told to pay on arrival, On arrival they are closed for the day and never answered the phone or emails. Waste of time and effort

Must do when in Vienna

What a great trip! Lani (sp?) was the absolute best tour guide! I ended up being more fortunate than most as I was the only one who booked the tour for that day, which honestly was the best! Lani (sp) has an incredible personality and is so much fun to ride Vienna with. She took me to the touristy spots and gave me a little history lesson at each, but when she was done, as it was just her and I, she challenged myself to safe racing around the squares, and the centre. Highly recommend booking this tour with Lani!!

Ripped off

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY they cancelled our tour on 40 minutes after arriving at there shop we got the email while we waited outside there shop in Vienna waiting to begin our tour with other people they said it was cancelled due to the extreme weather, the weather was glorious in the city that day (sunny and dry) they wouldn't answer any calls from us or the rest of the group in the email they gave us a reschedule date for the day before (absolutely pointless) it cost 238 euros for the two of us they never turned up! When they did answer days later they abused us then cancelled the call we went through PayPal to get our money back which the company wouldn't respond to PayPal either DON'T USE THIS COMPANY PEOPLE !!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Super fun experience! Also very flexible as we had to modify our reservation a couple of times! Cars are fast and fun :) you will feel like a movie star as you drive through the Víenna streets.

TERRIBLE

Mixed feelings. While the tour lasted, which only 20 minutes and was supposed to be 2 hours, it was a blast. The vehicles had NOT been maintained and our tour guide had to stop and fix 1 of them ever 10 minutes to get it to run again. You could clearly tell the guide was as upset as we were and told us we would get a full refund. It's now been 7 days since the trip and still no refund.

Only way to see Vienna at 40 kph from inches off the ground!!!

Good setup and introduction to vehicles. Nice tour guides and great views over Danube and the lovely city.

Hot Rods are fun, Tour information is lacking. It's about the driving.

The Hot Rods were a lot of fun, but be aware the focus is more driving the cars than learning about Vienna. Can't emphasize that enough. Driving and listening to a fuzzy ear piece radio can be difficult at times as well. I would highly recommend the tour operator invest in better radios (or bluetooth). Or create a pre-recorded tour audio guide. The Hot Rods are a ton of fun to drive and I'm glad we were able to open them up by driving out across the Danube. but the "Tour" part was lacking, most comments on Buildings were just their names and "a few famous artists lived there" or basic things that could have been inferred from the name of the building.

Fun time in Vienna

This was a super fun activity! A little bit thrilling as there are other cars on the road, but it was a lot of fun and a great way to see the city. Vienna is such a big city with a ton of history, the only thing that I wish is that their was a bit more of the history explained on the tour, although I realize that might be tough to do as its hard to communicate on the radio when the hot rods are moving. All in all, a fun way to spend a couple hours. Thanks!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The actual driving of this was a delight — it was a gorgeous day and you get to zip around in the cars with your guide. Everyone on the street takes pictures and videos of you, you feel like a star. Some beautiful scenes going across a bridge and other historical landmarks. However, there was also some not great parts too. My wife was almost hit by a truck — not only did the guide not seem to notice, but he basically shrugged and said our vehicles didn’t have much authority on the road. Additionally, the karts were in various states. Some didn’t have a working horn, others didn’t have a working turn signal and another didn’t have a working emergency parking break. None of this detracts too much from the tour as the guide takes you everywhere — but it is concerning when a truck almost hits you and you cannot honk your horn!! Also, despite the different experience described by other reviews, we received no tour whatsoever from our guide. There was no historical or other information delivered over the earpiece — it was a radio silent. Overall, it was a good time but some of the above definitely put a damper on the experience. Just a note of caution for those looking to go. Also if you look at other more negative reviews, you’ll see that the owners respond very harshly. I wouldn’t be surprised if the glowing rating is a bit inflated due to their proactive management of the reviews on this site.

A brilliant way to see the city. The looks on peoples faces when you drive past! I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a bit speed and excitement. Definitely do it again.

Great fun on the Hot Rods

Fab time and such fun hot rodding through the streets of Vienna. We certainly drew a lot of attention and would recommend this trip to anyone with a sense of fun and adventure!

Absolutely fantastic

What an amazing couple of hours. The French Guy (that’s what he told us to call him 😂) was awesome. We saw the sights and had a good laugh. Loved every second and was the best birthday ever!!! Still surprised they didn’t remember being on Travel Man though. This is great value for money and an awesome experience (even if you don’t care for driving!)
