Great fun and was definitely worth returning

This was my second experience with the company. In 2023 I went on Shinjuku/Shibuya route. Both were great and I will come back / I highly recommend to others. New location is nice and convenient, each group is fairly small, so you feel safe and controlled on the route. The guys do lots of photos, which you get upon conclusion. I also asked for and got a GoPro mounting for the kart. Heaps of excitement and fun! You’d be reminded multiple times that IDP is a must, so come prepared.

Best experience

My Dad and I had an 11he layover to Tokyo and decided to take advantage of the opportunity! Omg this was definitely a memorable experience love the sightseeing and tour guides (Hannah from Canada and Masaya) were amazing!!!!!! 1000/10 recommended.

The most incredible experience! Would recommend 100%. The guides were really welcoming and friendly, plus they take so many pics / videos for you, and give you them before you leave. A must for anyone visiting Tokyo!

Mind blowing fun!

If you’re debating on whether to do this or not do it! It as one of the best recreational experiences of my life. Seeing Tokyo from by zooming through the streets was amazing. Granted you’re going pretty fast so it’s not like getting a hop on hop off bus experience. The staff was amazing. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Don’t forget to get your international drivers permit before leaving out ot the US. It took me less than 15 minutes to get from a AAA office, and cost $35 if you don’t have your own photo. $20 if you bring your own passport photo.

SO FUN! AWESOME EXPERIENCE!

Our lead guide Hannah and 2nd guide of the group Luis were absolutely amazing! The whole team at Monkey cart was so friendly and kind from the moment that you arrive. It was raining on our day but luckily the rain passed, and we went out. Since it was the only day we could have done this before leaving Japan, I did not want to miss this chance. The team was willing to be flexible on the weather and I am so glad they were instead of canceling or refunding or rescheduling (which wouldnt work for us). They gave us ponchos in case and we did encounter a light drizzle. We completed the entirety of the planned tour. Hannah and Luis took pictures so don't worry about getting your own pictures. When my aunt suggested taking a video they were open to it and even coordinated such that at one of the stops we all drove by with Luis recording a video. These were airdropped to us at the end of the tour and we even got a couple cool ones that were edited, and a printout of each of us as a souvenir. There were costumes and some reviews had mentioned small selection but don't let that deter you from going to Monkey cart. They had plenty and all of them are cute to ride in the go carts! I was so nervous about driving on the real streets of Tokyo on the WRONG side of the road. It was exhilarating and I felt completely SAFE by following Hannah's lead. Highly recommend and wish I had more time to do the tour at night time as well!

Extreme Go Kart Fun!!

The explanation of how to drive the go kart was easy to remember. Once you drive it's a no brainer. We had a great time riding through. Our tour guide was a lady. She was fun! The experience was exhilarating throughout the whole thing. Weather was awesome. Only issue we had was finding the place on Google maps.

Monkey Karts for the WIN

The highlight of our vacation in Tokyo were the gokarts!!! Masa was the perfect guide and we had a ball!! Highly recommend!!!!!

Asakusa for the win!

What an amazing experience. At first I was nervous to drive in the open streets with the regular cars but Travis was a great guide and made us feel at ease. It was such a unique way to see the city and gave us the opportunity to see sites that we would have missed if we didn’t do this experience. A lot of people we passed took pictures and waved. I highly recommend Monkey Kart!

So much fun!

Ngl I was kinda scared about doing this because you’re literally driving in the busy streets of Tokyo… but once I was actually on the road it was a lot of fun and turned out to be a highlight of our trip. You’re following your leader and you have a set of hand signals that will tell you how to get into different formations depending on the traffic/stop lights. At certain parts you are going FAST and need to speed up and slow down quickly. You have to be alert and looking around you obviously but omg the city looks amazing from a go kart. I recommend booking the evening slot because the city starts to light up and it’s so pretty! The group leader is also in charge of taking pictures of you and the other drivers which is no small feat. Our leader Luis was great at capturing fun photos and keeping us safe during the drive. People will wave at you and take pictures from the sidewalk so it’s pretty fun. Please be a good person and follow the rules and share the road while doing this excursion. If you’re anxious about it like I was, don’t worry it’s gonna be super fun!! Highly recommend!

The best way to experience the streets of Tokyo

The team are super amazing and they make it so much fun. They’re cheering you on and making it even more fun - and it was a million percent fun already. You have such a long karting experience - it’s brilliant. You come back on a total high.

The experience was...

The experience was amazing, however, being said that. I was a bit disappointed. Halfway thru my trip, the go Kart I was driving broke down. I had to leave my kart on the side of the road and finish my experience on the back of the instructors Canam. Which dampered my experience a bit. I paid alot of money for the full experience and was not given that chance. My instructor Sho tried to restart the Kart, but unfortunately was unable to. When i got back to the garage the manager was not there for me request a refund and was told to email the manager. Which indid, response was to contact the company I made the reservation with and the manager will then look into the issue and give me the refund. I would like to request a refund. Thank you

This was the most fun activity we did on our trip. Exciting way to explore the city. I would do it again.

Everything about it was memorable. Just being able to ride go karts in a group on the streets and especially I'm tokyo!!!

What a way to cross the finish line!

Monkey kart was on the top of the list of things to do in Tokyo, when my son and I recently visited May, 2024! Don't skip doing this as it was an absolute blast and our tour guide was simply the best (Jerome). We were lucky to be a small group of just three and we zoomed through the streets of Asakusa and Akihabara. Along the way, we stopped in front of the sumo arena, Jerome took some shots there and a little further along we saw an actual sumo, on a bike and with flowers in hand! Could not take a picture of this but certainly won't forget the image! Jerome took loads of pictures all along our route, while pointing out all the attractions, and speeding along the course to the delight (cheers and waves) of locals and tourists along the way. This was way too much fun, and a terrific way to spend our last day in Tokyo. Shout out to Jerome, Hanna and everyone at Monkey kart, all of you are doing a great job there, and Dante & I highly recommend.

A MUST in Tokyo

I saw this originally on TikTok and was interested in doing it. The process of getting your IDP was super easy and simple, just make sure you get it in the country in which your Driver's License is from. We were nervous when we showed up and getting started in our go kart since Japan drives on the left side of the road, and we were very exposed to everything. But, after the first 10 minutes, you start to loosen up and really enjoy yourself. The tour takes you out in groups of 6 and we were lucky to get Kevin as our tour guide. We were at the back of the group for the majority of the tour, but Kevin makes sure to switch everyone around so each person gets a chance at being in the front and getting their pictures. It was such a unique and once in a lifetime experience. We were worried that we would get cut off by taxis or even intimidated by trucks, but all the local drivers are respectful and the locals even wave to you as you go by on the street. Kevin took us in a really large loop through Akihabara, Ueno, and Asakusa. He also took us on a secret route since we were fast and got to drive by the Tokyo Sky Tree, which we have an incredible picture in front of and its our favorite from the trip. This will seem scary at first, but it is truly a MUST in Tokyo.

Highlight of my Tokyo trip!

Couldn't wait to do this as I missed out on doing this the first trip to Japan. Beautiful day for it & loved how fast the karts can actually go! Our guide was very efficient & made sure we were all safe on the tour itself. Easy to find location to commence & I took my own costume, however they provide a room full of items you can wear for the go kart. Highly recommend to also get to drive the streets of Akihabara!

MonkeyKarting is a must for everyone visiting Japan, on our ride we were accompanied by Kazuki, he speaks great English and is a super nice person, he does a great job of showing you around the Asakusa area and is informative. Hello! Which is better, Annecy or Tokyo? Well, both cities have their unique aspects, making it hard to point out which city is better than the other in general. In a report by MasterCard, Annecy is internationally known for the beauty of its harmonious landscapes, but also for the quality of the lake water, thanks to the conservation efforts for over 50 years, making it the purest lake in Europe, While Tokyo became one of the world's most active major cities, boasting attractions such as cutting-edge technology, information, culture, and fashion, as well as a high level of public safety. Yet, Annecy captures the mind of women and men like few others. Its grandeur, its elegance, its beauty make it one of the few places in the world one can swoon over every minute they spend there, But Tokyo is one of the world's most exciting cities and offers both the ancient and the modern in one day. Many people can't help but be fascinated by Japan because of its ancient culture while many are also attracted to its modernity and creativity. From my experience in France, I found other cities more attractive than Annecy and it is not Florence or Interlaken. If you are on a budget, Annecy is less expensive than Tokyo. I feel that Tokyo is a great place to visit in japan because Tokyo is the administrative, cultural, financial, commercial, and educational centre of Japan and the focus of an extensive urban complex that includes Kawasaki and Yokohama. Attractions include the Imperial Palace, encircled by stone-walled moats and broad gardens, and numerous temples and shrines. Just writing about it makes me want to go there. Karma salman

Way tooooo much fun 😁 fantastic

Right from before get go, the team at Monkey Kart were extremely helpful and hospitable. The preparation and safety before taking to the streets was very well explained. Our Guide (Mike) was fantastic as my wife was not using the accelerator peddle properly and was also a bit timid (yet she is a lead foot peddle to the metal in Australia 😃) We were holding the other participants up. Sooooooo, our guide radioed base and before long another guide arrived and took the other drivers ahead and (Mike) took us ahead by ourselves. We both had the start of severe head colds but we were well looked after and enjoyed thoroughly touring through the streets of Tokyo. (Mike) you were incredibly thoughtful and professional and; WE HIGHLY AND THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THE MONKEY KART EXPERIENCE. Our Guide was not Mike, he said to call him this if we didn’t like the tour 🤣😂 but we LOVED IT & LOVED HIS ATTENTION TO OUR CARE AND TO ENSURE OOUR ENJOYMENT ❤️

Stop debating, book this now. This is one of the things we discussed most after our trip because of what a great experience it was. Our guides Luis and Sho were fantastic, they were so friendly and really made us feel safe during the drive. The costumes are definitely worth doing, just get there a bit early to make sure you get your favorite! Get your IDL ahead of time, and BOOK THIS DRIVE, you won't regret it!!

This tour was one of our highlights of this trip! From the check in, we were greeted by the two ladies in the office. They were professional and accommodating. All the staff was amazing. From Chavez who showed us how to work the go-karts and street etiquette, to our guide Jerome. He was a great tour guide, with lots of knowledge of the city. He made us laugh and enjoy this experience to the max! We will definitely be recommending this tour to friends and family.

ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES. PERIOD.

I spent 12 days in Japan in Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo and Tokyo. This was by far one of my favorite activities! Our guide Zam? was amazing. He let us experience the city in both fast and slow mode. Super fun, staff was professional, karts were solid and fast, and SUPER FUN. If you have a go-pro, def bring it.

Surreal

That experience was so surreal. My actual date was cancelled and rescheduled due to the rain and just a bad weather, wet and cloudy, I was glad for safety reason. On the actual day of my ride was sunny, cool and balmy. Our ride guide was Brandon (awesome guide). There was an issue with the first cart and it had to be replaced. The staff had brought me to catch with the others which there were only five of us in the group. I truly trusted the professionalism of the staff and everyone running this venue. I would recommend anyone to do it. Next time I am back in Tokyo, I would do the evening ride. The only advance note I would say, if you are going to do this, don’t wear your best clothing because you will smell like gasoline after.

The BEST Ever!

We had the most amazing time with Travis! Would highly recommend. Travis was not only a great instructor. He was also sure to point out great things about the city and advise where we could go out to eat at etc.

Akihabara karting

It was fun driving trough the town and seeing some locals also enjoying seeing us go-karting. They chose a good route!

Fun, but needs an improvement for sound.

This tour was a lot of fun. The only thing that was a real issue was that we couldn’t hear our tour guide because of the motors and being in the middle or back. The tour guides need to have microphones, so that everyone, no matter where they are positioned, can hear for safety reasons and for the history he was giving us about the city. I heard maybe 20% of what he said throughout the tour. He was trying his best to yell, but everything was too loud to hear him.

Yosuke was the BEST, highly recommend this tour!

Our initial booking had to be rescheduled due to rain and our guide Yosuke was awesome! He made it possible for us to do the tour even though the times available didn’t fit into our schedule bc we were leaving Tokyo. He made the tour so spectacular for us and he hs an infectious personality! As we rode through the streets he waved to all the ppl and kids on the route. Highly recommend this tour, it was so fun to get a different perspective of the city and we cannot thank Yosuke enough for making it a highlight of our trip!!!

This was an exhilarating experience! The staff were super sweet and knowledgable about the city. It was a bit nerve wracking to drive the carts in tokyo traffic but our guide made us feel safe and comfortable. We ended up confusing the time of our reservations and the staff still honored our tickets. Great customer service and would use again!

A simply mind-blowing and exhilarating experience. The check-in was smooth, we took our IDP along with our passports. We got brief instructions about the dos and don'ts. It was awesome to drive around the streets of Asakusa and Akihabara. It was a sunny beautiful day. Worth going for!

Fun Way to Tour Tokyo

This was one of the best experiences! Our tour driver Lennard was fair and fun on the tour. We were a group of 4 and he made sure we each had equal time in the front to get great pics. The tour was a full 1.5hr around Tokyo. Just a heads’ up, due to copyright laws with Nintendo in Japan, I wasn’t able to enjoy my Mario Kart character costume fully on the tour. They have multiple Pokémon and generic character costumes to wear so you don’t have to pack your own.

Go Karting in Tokyo

It was amazing experience driving the streets of Tokyo with Brandon! I can’t ever imagine this is possible in a city of 40 million people. Brandon was patient and communicated the instructions clearly.

Unique way to experience Tokyo and gokarts

I've done a lot of gokarting and visited a lot of cities in my life. This was a surprisingly fun way to do both. Among the most fun things I did in my 12 days in Japan. Good to do at the start of a trip to see places before you visit them.
