An enthralling tour of Shimla

Mr.Raj the guide is by far the best of all yours we have taken in India. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the history of India and in particular the many historic buildings of Shimla and presented this knowledge in such a charming way that it was accessible to all and constantly engaging.

Exceptional historical tour

Raj did an exceptional job carefully and clearly explaining so much history of Shimla. We were able to visit inside of several places and he answered our many questions with ease. He also was not pushing us to go quickly and took extra time with us. The communication before and after was clear as well. This is excellent customer service! Highly recommended!

Knowledgable Guide took us through Shimla’s History

It was a great experience learning about Shimla’s history through the guide Mr. Raj. He was very knowledgeable and shared some interesting stories about the places. We started at the church and walked all the way to the Viceroy’s house. It was a 4 hour walk and well worth the experience. If you want to know the real Shimla… I highly recommend this walk.

An absolute must when visiting Shimla

Shimla may be a small town but it has an incredible history and so much to do. Raju was an excellent guide who really connects with his tour group, making it a more personal and enjoyable experience. Raju is passionate about his town and brought it to life for me. When I return, I will do the tour again if I can have Raju as the guide.

An excellent walk with a guide who has lived in Shimla for many years. A great insight to the history and current day matters. The walk was tailored to my requirements as I had already seen some if the sights.

I was in awe with Shimla the moment I reached there with my family. Amazing experience. I really thank Himachal bylocals for arranging the heritage walk. Mr. Bhatia was very cooperative person. He assist us locals food places in Shimla. Taste was very authentic specially Himachali Dham. Really you guys are excellent. Keep it up.

Poor Customer Service

I wasn't able to make it because the monsoon rains closed the train and highway. They don't have a refund option so they did no work and I paid full price. I wouldn't recommend this service for that reason as it's a sign of poor customer service. I hope they reconsider so I can come back and change this review.

Shimla Guided tour experience

It was a wonderful guided tour of Shimla. Although it rained at Fagu we managed to have a wonderful time at Shimla. Himanchal by Locals and its wonderful team ensured we had the best of the local experience. Mr. Raj coordinated it very well for us and so did our guide Mr. Sanjay. Would definitely recommend this team for anyone travelling to Himanchal. Thanks!

Very good and highly recommended. The tour guide was very knowledgeable so I learned a lot but it was also a very relaxing walk.

Great walk!

The walk started on time. Guide Sanjay spoke very good English. Started at the church and ended at gaiety theater. Walk pretty much covered all of shimla heritage buildings. This is a must walk when here. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk.

Came to know a lot more about Shimla and it’s history.. The colonial architecture of this city is truly wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had an experience of more than 20 yrs .. I truly recommend this tour

Shimla city tour

We had a lovely tour of the city of Shimla with our guide Mr Raju who arrived promptly at our hotel and subsequently walked us to various points of interest whilst explaining fun facts and trivia along the way. We didn’t feel rushed and the guide was happy to adjust the tour to our requirements. He was clearly a very knowledgeable and passionate about his home town. I would highly recommend using their services again.

Great Shimla heritage walk

Our walk was a combination of the heritage walk and the Glen forest walk, which was lovely. We visited the Viceroy Lodge first, walked the Glen and then did the heritage walk through Shimla. Our guide, Shalini, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about Shimla’s history and landmarks.

Pleasant walk tour experience

The tour was excellent. We learnt the history and culture of Shimla. The guide (Raju Thakur) was knowledgeable and enlightened us with a lot of finer details about the region. Overall, we enjoyed the walk (approx 3 hours) and would recommend everyone to try this out.

Interesting walking tour in the historical part of Shimla

The guide, Sunjay, guided us in the historical part of Shimla. We had a very good discussion of heritage buildings and colonial history in Shimla.

Very informative tours.She explain the historical facts every clear.Its a walk through the erstwhile British Summer capital where one gets to walk through all the heritage buildings built during the British Raj Which stand intact till date ..Although it was rainy day but we enjoy a lot.

We have well spend day .our walk started at 11 am.our guide explain each and every concept about history very well way. Over all it was excellent experience. You must try once

take time

Offered this 3 hr walk by our guide , allow 5 hrs . Great local knowledge as you would expect , wear your walking shoes as you walk from one end of Shimla to the other that’s not a negative just be aware of distances . We bought a light lunch for the guide as stopped for coffee . Altogether a great experience do allow more time than given

Great experience with Guide at shimla

It was really great experience at shimla. I was solo traveler and feel very safe and comfortable with Guide. she explained very nicely about the heritage walk of shimla. It took 3 hrs to complete this walk and really value for money. I will recommend to all who wants to explore shimla with historical prospects..

Really felt that our guide was...

<p>Really felt that our guide was informed and took very good care of us during the tour. It was a bit strenuous at times but she was willing to take it slowly at our pace. I believe it could be improved if you could provide at least one way with a car and one way walking. Because it involves a bit of uphill walking. It also involves us walking around 40 minutes from our hotel to the meeting place. Other then that is it was and the restaurant was fantastic.</p>
