Phuket to Ao Nang by Ao Nang Princess Ferry

Ferry ride from Phuket to Ao Nang (mainland), was not expecting much but quite scenic as you pass other (Phi Phi) islands. Option of watching from upper deck or relaxing in AC lower deck. Comfortable journey for trip that is approx. 1 hour.

Phuket to Ao Nang

Being on the top deck and the VIP section, you get snacks and drinks. Really smooth ride and everything went to time

Chaos loading and unloading the ferry.

Pier in Phuket was confusing and was directed to wrong check in booth where fight almost broke out when people barged into long lines. Baggage was stored in large piles onboard vessel which left 30 min late as was waiting to fill right up. Utter chaos when it came to finding our two bags and to exit the ship. We had booked transport from ferry to our hotel in Ao Nang but no one was waiting for us so boarded a “free” ride in back of truck. Cut my leg trying to get in the 2 1/2 ft step up. Promises from Viator unfulfilled.

Very bad treat

There are more seats than space on that boat, which makes settling in terribly uncomfortable. All the people have to brush past the seats because there is no space. constantly being bothered. remove a row of seats and regain dignity When you get to land things get even worse, they treat you like cattle and don't give you information. They only talk to each other and indicate with gestures where to move as if you were an animal.

Excellent service …. BUT

We we really impressed with the organisation of this trip, we were kept well informed at all times, the pick up was punctual, transfer comfortable and assistance onto ferry with our luggage excellent. Out actual ferry was dated , funny having old airline seats that needed recovering , but the ride was smooth. However it was at the end of the trip that things fell apart, there was no help either luggage which had been stacked in a corner of the ferry, so everyone was pulling their own from the stack causing columns to fall, no help carrying bags of the boat, which was hard when the boats are parked 3 wide and you have to clamber across them. Sure fine for younger backpackers but I am in my 60s with a previously severely broken arm and needed assist with luggage, this was not forthcoming which was a shame.

Phuket to Ao Nang

Interesting experience traveling from Phuket to Ao Nang. We felt very safe on the ferry, but the luggage and ticket line need a bit of work.

Avoid this company if you actually have to be somewhere at a certain time & also don’t like being abused by boat staff.

1.5 hours late departure from Ao Nang, boat “broken” after leaving Railay. Change over to another boat with sleeping sick child in pram, sit back in the same place as we had on previous boat, extremely rude female staff member screams at us asking us to move to a different deck. We tried explaining that our baby (16months) had been in the medical centre and is on medication and really needs this sleep as by then we should have already been in Ko Lanta. After screaming at us some more she then locks us in to the deck cabin (imagine if there was an accident, there has been 4 in Thailand in the past 2 weeks). Her staff then walked around the outside of the deck smoking weed and banging on the windows and doors all while our child tried to sleep. Awful treatment by boat staff albeit the power staff were kind and helpful. We’re about 20 minutes out from Lanta as I write this and expecting a lot more abuse even police when we arrive to the pier. I will update but avoid this company if you actually have to be somewhere at a certain time.

Great mode of transportation

Efficient and friendly service. Great value. And great experience. Highly recommend as mode of travel between Aunang and Phuket

Good experience

It was simple. The boat was on time and the ferry ride provided a great view in bonus. A great way to move from Phuket to Ao Nang beach.

Friendly, relaxing, enjoyable.

Convenient and reliable. Stress free way to travel. I was hungover so it gave me time to sleep on the way, seats are comfortable, it doesn't even feel like you're on the ocean. No need ro worry about motion sickness.

Excellent Service

Excellent service door to door From the pickup from hotel which was exactly on time to the ferry ride in air condition comfort and comfortable seats to help working out my hotel to getting drop off at the door step. Thanks guys love your work.

Cheap but chaotic.

Pick up was 15 min late, but that wasn’t so much an issue. Poor communication (there’s actually a first stop at Reilay beach and then ao nang). Chaos at the harbor checkin. You’ll have to carry your luggage across boats and up and down boat stairs. No help. Drop off was quick but no help with luggage. It was cheap, but I might suggest another way to get across to krabi. It worked out, but just unorganized.

Nice trip

Nice trip. The bus was not on time in the morning. 30 min too late, but it was not a problem with the boat. The boat was okay.

Great service and great value for money!

We booked the ferry from Phuket (Kamala) to Ao Nang a few days in advance - it was very easy and convenient to book and pay online from the company's website. The driver was friendly and arrived at our hotel on time to pick us up at 7am and there was room in the back of the bus for our large suitcases. If you are being picked up from further away, an additional charge will apply (from Kamala this was only 100 BHT each) which is paid in cash at the company desk at the pier. The ferry journey took slightly longer as we arrived at Ao Nang for around 11.15/11.30. However, this wasn't an issue as we were only checking in at the hotel that day - just something to be mindful of if you have any plans. The staff carried our suitcases off the boat and we were dropped off at our hotel in Ao Nang within 15 minutes. For the money, the service is brilliant and much easier than flying. The boat is quite old and run down but this didn't bother us for the convenience. I would definitely recommend this company and we will be using them again when we travel back to Phuket.

Run down. Unclean.

There's a couple of boats named Princess so this review is for the boat that's possibly the larger one. Downstairs interior, memorable. What appears to be repurposed airplane seats look tired and the fabric was unclean and visibly stained. It felt dirty. How that weary backpacker laid sleeping across seats with his face on any of those dirty seats I'll never know... It presents as very low quality. Upstairs is a tad better but every Indian on the boat had grabbed a seat yet the seats are in similar poor condition.

Gets the job done

Boat left 45 minutes late, no reason given. And it looks nothing at all like the boat in the photo it’s a crap shoot what boat they assign.

It was amazing , the view from the deck & the breeze was worth the tan , everything went smoothly & was fun

Not a 2 hour tour

We were picked up at 6:55 am. The ferry (supposed to depart at 8:30 am) left around 9:15 with no indication of legitimate reason for delay. We got to ao nang around 12 because the ferry moved so slowly and stops in railey and when we finally arrived we had to get a taxi rather than wait around and use the booking since the wait was so long and we had an afternoon tour booked.

Booking in advance required

It’s better to book your trip at least one day before your travel date, they picked us from hotel and dropped back to our hotel, it was a pleasant trip over all.

Nous avons pris plusieurs fois ce ferry pour nous rendre à différentes îles de Thaïlande. A chaque fois, plusieurs heures de retard à poireauter en plein soleil au port. Et le service de pick up est nul. Nous avons attendu puis été transférés dans différents bus, avec des chauffeurs qui conduisaient de manière dangereuse. Perte de temps et d’argent.

Alt, sehr langsam, gefühlt längste Fahrt des Lebens. Keine Empfehlung!

Sehr alte, langsame Fähre. Die Fahrt dauert anstatt 2 Stunden eher um die 4 Stunden (Nettofahrzeit). Dazu kommt natürlich immer eine halbe Stunde Verspätung dazu. Das Boot ist sehr alt auch im Vergleich zu anderen Fähren. Wenn man genügend Zeit mitbringt kann man das Boot buchen ansonsten empfehle ich ganz klar ein Speedboot um Zeit und Nerven zu sparen (insb. bei gutem Wetter).
