An Evening to Remember

Chef Tamas was truly amazing. His love of food and wine shines through and he made the evening one my husband and I will never forget. The basement setting is just perfect and we shared the evening with another couple from Germany and two female travelers- so it was very intimate with just 6 of us. Each dish was better than the one that came before it and the wine pairings were spectacular - each complimenting and enhancing the food being served. I would recommend anyone visiting Budapest to 100% include this on your itinerary - it should not be missed.

Amazing evening in Budapest with great food, wine and company!

My husband and I attended the chefs table at the end of May and had an amazing evening. A lovely way to spend my 40th birthday! Tamás and John were great hosts and their passion for the food and wine shone through. We were on a table of 8 and really got to know our fellow guests over the many food courses with wine pairings. The whole evening lasted over 4 hours, and felt perfectly paced. Great to learn about Hungarian food and wine as we were eating and drinking. This was the highlight of our trip and I would absolutely recommend this for an evening in Budapest!

We fell in love!

Dinner was absolutely incredible! We loved everything about our experience from sharing the table with another lovely couple, the food, the wine, the kindness of Chef Tamás and Christian, and the atmosphere in the cellar. It was one of the first things we did in Hungary and it made us fall in love with the city. Chef Tamás is incredible at what he does, he was so kind and happy to share his recipes and love of what he does, the food was beautiful and made us feel like we were sharing in a family dinner filled with warmth. Christian the sommelier was just as amazing, his knowledge of the wines, how they paired with the food, and just his overall character were really cool and you can tell he is so passionate about what he does. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough, you will leave with a warmth in your belly that just makes you feel loved and cared for. We still often talk of this night with friends, and it fills us with the best memories. Thank you for the most wholesome, and heart warming welcome that we could have had to beautiful Budapest. Lovely wines tasting

Very large selection of hungarian wines from all regions. The host had a vast knowledge of the subject and you could effectively choose which wines you wanted to sample on the flight. We did the small 5 flight tasting but there are other options including professional tastings. Lovely hour spent discussing the wines.

Excellent food, wine, and company

This review is coming quite late, but the two dinner and wine tastings I attended are still fresh in my mind. Each time we got to taste a variety of Hungarian wines, all introduced by their own vintner who explained about the region, the grapes, etc. We sat at one of two communal tables, and our company was really fascinating-- different people from around the world with some truly amazing jobs and stories. There were delicious hors d'oeuvres on the table, service was excellent, and the food was out of this world both times-- chef Tomas is an absolute talent. I don't think I've had fresh trout like that in my entire life, and when I told him how the dessert was like a religious experience, he gave me another portion. He said something lovely about the joy of seeing people enjoy his food. All in all, the experience is incredibly well planned and executed, with talented, sweet, and interesting people both organizing and attending. I'd say this is a Budapest can't miss!

Wonderful Experience!

My husband and I had the pleasure of doing the wine tasting in early 2018 and had a wonderful experience. Our host was very pleasant and knowledgable. Would certainly recommend it.

Tasting treat

If you love food and wine, a Tasting Table's winemaker dinner is a must do event. Dine in an underground cellar with a local winemaker and learn more about the wines of Hungary and neighbouring countries. Such a treat, with great hospitality fromour hosts.

A must-do in Budapest: fantastic wine, delicious food, and great company!

If you can plan your trip to Budapest to coincide with the bi-weekly dinner at Tasting Table, this is a can't miss dinner. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the ability to chat with the winemaker and fellow dinner guests at the communal table throughout the evening is fantastic. Tomas and his team did a fantastic job, I hope to find myself back in Budapest to experience another Thursday at Tasting Table!

A wonderful evening in Budapest

It was a really great evening and more than exceeded our expectations. Every course tasted excellent and the wines were very well chosen. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a special culinary highlight!
